Washington, D.C., Jan 26, 2017 – The Utilities Technology Council (UTC) congratulates Ajit Pai on his selection by President Trump to be the next Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Pai has been a Commissioner since 2012, and strongly believes in closing the “digital divide.”
“We are excited to work with Chairman Pai and his colleagues to ensure that our member electric, natural gas and water utilities are assured access to the information and communications technology they need to ensure the safe, secure and affordable delivery of energy and water services,” said Joy Ditto, President and CEO of UTC. “Bridging the “digital divide” while ensuring utilities have access to interference-free spectrum, will help improve our country’s economic and national security. The FCC plays a critical role in these areas and Chairman Pai’s leadership will be instrumental in accomplishing these objectives.”
