01 Jun Michael Brown
Michael Brown leads NRTC’s Engineering Team and is responsible for strategy, market growth, and technology innovations for Broadband customers in the Electric and Telecommunications markets. He brings 41+ years of strategic planning, next-generation network innovations, vendor technology integration, and scalable, repeatable deployments across service provider and enterprise domains. His record of solid accomplishments stems from his hands-on experience across multiple disciplines from drafting to developing technical strategies that produce significant business results.
Prior to joining NRTC, Mr. Brown spent 10 years at the Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) directing architecture, solutions, and successful implementation of multiple LAN, WAN, and unified communication transformation projects for Federal clients including NASA, DHS, and DOD.
Before SAIC he was acting CTO of FairPoint Communications where he executed a technical strategy to modernize the regional network infrastructure in Northern New England to support a $1.7B acquisition of landlines from Verizon. This technical strategy resulted in over $300M of new annual revenue through the introduction of new Carrier Ethernet and Video services and positioned FairPoint as a telecommunications leader in their market.
Mr. Brown has a passion for developing technical teams to meet objectives, providing career and personal mentorship of young people watching them grow in capability and character. The building is another passion, whether decks, homes, landscaping, technical infrastructures, highly skilled teams, doesn’t matter what it is, he just loves to build stuff.
