Evan Baker

Evan is a Data / Fire / Security systems designer at SSOE who is responsible for the design and engineering of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm, paging, audio/visual, wireless networks, and data communication systems for SSOE’s clients. His responsibilities also include threat assessments, specifications, RFP creation, and commissioning. Beyond the design work performed for SSOE’s clients, he also manages the Building Design Group’s Electrical department and the SSOE’s specialty team of Data / Fire / Security System designers and engineers. This team of about 30 engineers and designers are located across nine of SSOE’s 15 US based offices. His electrical department performs engineering design services for SSOE’s commercial, education, healthcare, and governmental clients. Since his beginning at SSOE he has helped to create SSOE’s Data / Fire / Security team and grow it into a large portion of SSOE’s business.

Evan is a 2006 graduate from the University of Toledo’s College of Engineering and has spent his entire professional career with SSOE, beginning in 2005 when he started as a co-op student in the electrical department. With his wife Stephanie and their three children, he lives in rural northwest Ohio on the farmland his Baker ancestors settled on. He is the eighth generation Baker to reside on his family’s 40-acre farm.
