Miriam has worked in power systems protection and communications for well over 30 years. Currently a senior communications application engineer with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., she held positions earlier in her career at Westinghouse, ABB Power, Booth and Associates, Pulsar Technologies, Ametek Power, and Quanta Technology. Miriam has published several papers on the application of Power-Line Carrier for use in protection systems. She also participates in the University of Wisconsin Communications for Power System Protection, Automation, and Smart Grid Technology courses. Actives in the IEEE and PES have included officer positions in the Power Systems Relaying and Control Committee, the Executive Board of the PES, and the IEEE Board of Directors. Miriam is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida and North Carolina.
