Practical Lightning Migration (DUPLICATE)

Lightning can affect electronic systems, often in catastrophic ways. This presentation will review some of the problems and suggest practical mitigation methods to reduce system susceptibility. Our discussion will concentrate on radio antennas feeding into small shelters or enclosures, along with proper grounding, inductance effects, soil quality and multi-point grounding.

Jerry Hogan | Director of Engineering, Solar

Jerry, currently the Director of Engineering at Solara Technical Sales, has a BSEE from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  His early career in R&D and technical marketing in power electronics and power systems was at the largest of companies: AT&T Bell Labs, Texas Instruments, Siemens and Rockwell.  His later career included executive management positions at several smaller technical companies.  He’s been directly involved with lightning-related issues and their mitigation for over 35 years.
