Western Governors submit bipartisan policy recommendations to U.S. Department of Commerce on BEAD Program
In correspondence with U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Western Governors submitted bipartisan policy recommendations regarding the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Development (BEAD) Program. The June 3, 2025, letter, signed by New Mexico Governor and WGA Chair Michelle Lujan Grisham and Utah Governor and WGA Vice Chair Spencer Cox, highlights policy priorities for broadband deployment in the West. “The West faces specific challenges when deploying broadband infrastructure, often resulting in a greater number of high-cost areas to serve,” reads the letter. “Any revised BEAD guidance should account for these increased costs to support hard-to-reach households.” Read More
What’s Wrong With West Virginia’s BEAD Proposal?
On March 13, 2025, West Virginia was poised to achieve one of the greatest broadband successes in America.
