A Phased Approach to Private LTE Wireless Design

When planning a private wireless broadband network, utilities need confidence that their wireless coverage and capacity meet mission-critical requirements and that the network can be deployed efficiently over time.

This webinar presents a practical, data-driven framework for evaluating both spectrum performance and network design. Attendees will learn how to assess the capacity and performance for real-world utility use cases, using wireless system simulation to model applications within a proposed network design.

We also will explore how to determine the optimal number and placement of base stations to achieve reliable coverage efficiently. Participants will gain insight into how to scale their network over time through phased deployment strategies while controlling upfront costs and maintaining long-term flexibility.

Featuring lessons learned from Southern California Edison, this session provides actionable guidance on coverage and capacity evaluation, network planning, and avoiding costly overdesign.

Key Takeaways:

  • How simulation tools can be leveraged to model capacity, coverage, and performance
  • Strategies for right-sizing base station deployment
  • Phased network design approaches that balance cost and scalability
  • Real-world insights from a utility-led private broadband deployment
