Jan is Itron’s Sr. Solutions Architect for cellular communication solutions and works out of its San Jose, West Coast office. He was instrumental in the largest cellular direct-connect deployment of electric meters in the US so far with Consumers Energy in Michigan. More than 1.8 million meters are now deployed there over a Verizon’s 4G network. He has prior experience from leading start-ups in VPN security, cellular vehicle-to-vehicle communications and push-to-talk over cellular. Jan started his career in Sweden with Ericsson, where he for 10 years was involved in mobile core network development and standardization. Jan has 12 patents approved.
