Tom Perry is a 1980 graduate of the Citadel with a BSEE degree. Following graduation Tom worked at Texas Instruments as a Design Engineer on the Harpoon/Tomahawk missile project. He joined Santee Cooper in 1983 as a Communications Design Engineer. During his 34-year career at Santee Cooper, he worked as a Planning Engineer in the Transmission Planning Department, the Superintendent of System Communications, and was responsible for the installation and maintenance of the Santee Cooper Bulk Communications system. Tom is registered Professional Engineer in the state of South Carolina. He is a former Chairman of the UTC Board. He currently serves as a member of the Leadership Advisory Council (LAC) and in 2018 became the UTC Regional Representative for UTC. Tom and his wife, LaBet, live in Summerville, SC. He enjoys spending as much of his free time as possible with his two grandchildren, Mason and Maddox.
