Shannon R. Legree is currently a Field Staff Branch Chief with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Mission Area, working in the Rural Utilities Services, Telecommunications Program, and has been employed with the Agency for 25 years. With this position, he performs all aspects of supervisory duties to include planning and assigning work, developing performance standards, and evaluating the performance. He also works on the development of policy, plans and procedures for overall program administration, and assists in the coordination of the program with respect to loans, grants operations, management, and engineering activities. He has held various positions within the agency, including General Field Representative, Business & Cooperative Programs Specialist, Renewable Energy Coordinator, Area Specialist, and Community Development Specialist.
While working with the Agency, he has gained experience in reviewing, underwriting, and servicing all Business & Cooperative Programs loan and grant products, Multi-Family Housing complexes, Guaranteed Rural Housing loans, Single-Family Housing loans & grants, and Water & Waste projects. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agribusiness from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. He enjoys traveling, grilling, and being around family and friends.
