Jeff Maze has real-world experience and success leading the modernization of Wide Area Network (WAN) technology for large utilities in the southwest region of the United States. Over a 12-year career working for the largest utilities in Nevada and Arizona, Jeff provided engineering and technical leadership in various business units and across the technical landscape characteristic of the industry. Most notably, in 2018, Jeff authored a network modernization strategy/roadmap and led an engineering team responsible for transitioning from multiple TDM and SONET systems to a converged IP/MPLS network. As a result, hundreds of substations have migrated to a modern network standard with significant numbers of multiplexers, channel banks, TDM MW radios, and DACS systems decommissioned and retired.
Jeff holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has spent several years serving on the WECC Telecom Workgroup participating in drafting guidelines and standards for utility telecommunications systems.
