Strengthening Utility Supply Chain Security: The Power of UTC ARMOR and IEC 62443

UTC and its members are designing an information-sharing platform to exchange information about third-party risks, software security, and ways to engage suppliers about security best practices.

UTC has partnered with ISA and Cumulys to build a platform for its members to address several industry cybersecurity trends and compliance challenges – called ARMOR.  The ARMOR program has been designed to enable utilities to coordinate 3rd party risk and product security information between asset owners and suppliers.  UTC’s partnership with ISA will allow UTC members to benefit from internationally recognized standards, independently performed certifications, and the ability to create customized certification processes designed to meet the needs of utilities.  The webinar will highlight the UTC ARMOR program, the benefits provided through our partnership with ISA, and the information-sharing platform hosted by Cumulys to help industry meet supply chain challenges compliantly.

Key Benefits for Utilities and Suppliers:

Streamlining Compliance with NERC CIP and IEC 62443: Gain practical insights into how utilities can leverage IEC 62443 standards to meet NERC CIP requirements and other international best practices. Vendors and suppliers will learn how aligning their products with these standards can support utilities in complying with their customer’s regulatory mandates while demonstrating the security of their products.

Enhancing Supply Chain Security: The UTC ARMOR Program provides a pathway to certification under IEC 62443 for vendors/suppliers, ensuring utility products meet rigorous security international and NERC regulatory requirements. Utilities benefit from working with ARMOR-certified vendors, reducing risks associated with third-party products through transparent coordination with participating utilities.

The ARMOR Program Advantage: Learn how the UTC ARMOR Program enables compliance with regulatory requirements and international standards while providing utility participants with continuously updated results, details about software security via Software Bills of Material, and insight into the geopolitical risks of a wide range of UTC suppliers.  This program empowers utilities to maintain a proactive cybersecurity procurement posture while suppliers gain a competitive edge by offering certified, secure products.
