ABOUT THIS EVENT
This session will be an introductory overview of the IEC 61850 suite of standards, intended for utility telecom and technology personnel. Concepts covered will include: The IEC 61850 framework, object models, protection applications, SCADA applications, comparison of IEC 61850 approaches with traditional approaches, substation network architectures to support IEC 61850, and the role of network based timing (IEEE 1588v2).
