U.S. legislators and regulators regularly seek UTC input regarding utility security projects and research.

Security is the 21st century reliability challenge and requires a holistic approach.  Holistic security is impossible without meaningful standards for design and implementation. To help shape those standards, UTC regularly participates by invitation with globally recognized standards bodies such as:

  • Technical experts in development of ISA-62443-1-3, Security for industrial automation and control systems, Part 1-3: Cybersecurity system conformance metrics
  • Participant in global cybersecurity standards development through membership in INCITS/CS
  • Leadership roles in development of ISO/IEC 27036, Information Security for Supplier Relationships; ISO/IEC 27004, Information Security Management Systems – Monitoring, Measurement, Analysis, and Evaluation
