DESCRIPTION:   Under direction organizes, assigns and reviews the work of assigned personnel engaged in skilled tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of the District’s water distribution system; performs duties requiring specialized knowledge including the maintenance and operation of storage, flow and pressure control systems; and provides administrative support to assigned supervisor. This is the Chief Operator level in the Distribution Operator series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, by the amount of time spent performing the duties, and by the nature of the public contact made. Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series, including providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel and perform the most difficult and complex duties associated with the maintenance and operations of the water distribution system. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility.

The technical lead engineer shall possess a depth of experience, expertise and understanding of engineering topics especially related to transmission design and construction. Solutions typically provided by the engineer may involve complex issues, requiring interpretation of requirements, application of advanced analytical techniques and non-standard solutions. The position requires substantial experience developing permit and construction drawings for new and existing pole re-locations, thermal up-rates, reconductoring, communication siting & services, underground and overhead system projects. The engineer shall provide professional engineering service and support in the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and analysis of PSE electrical transmission facilities and assets.

DESCRIPTION:   Under indirect and intermittent supervision, to do all levels of drafting work on which the general design has been established, on construction and rehabilitation projects on transmission substations, service buildings and other Company transmission properties; and to do related work as required. In the connection to perform details of work, such as: Prepare finished drawings from preliminary designs, diagrams, layouts, sketches, notes, specifications, or verbal instructions. Make study drawings, modify wiring drawings and assist with other electrical drawings in the development of a construction project. Make simple calculations or use tables or determine wire sizes, conduit sizes, etc. Make wiring diagrams from schematics. Prepare schedules, bills of materials, etc. Occasionally, check drawings of other Electrical Designer I or CAD Technicians. Assist in department training program as a mentor, trainer or other assigned by supervision. Occasionally, obtain detailed information in the field, usually accompanied by a Supervisor, Electrical Designer II or others.
