Lyash, Sabato to Keynote UTC TELECOM 2008

Washington, D.C. – The Utilities Telecom Council (UTC) is pleased to announce that Jeff Lyash, President and CEO of Progress Energy and Larry Sabato, Election Analyst and University Professor, are scheduled to keynote UTC TELECOM 2008, UTC’s Annual Conference, during the Opening General Session. Lyash is slated to discuss industry trends while Sabato will discuss the 2008 presidential election and give attendees an idea of what they can expect – personally and professionally. Progress Energy, a member of the Utilities Telecom Council, is the official “Host Utility” for UTC TELECOM 2008.

UTC TELECOM 2008 is scheduled for May 4-7, 2008 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. It is the biggest conference dedicated to telecom and IT professionals at critical infrastructure organizations. The Opening General Session kicks off the educational portion of UTC TELECOM 2008 which is split into the following symposia and workshops:

  • Smart Meters/Smart Grids Symposium
  • Control Systems Symposium
  • Community Development Symposium
  • Enterprise IT Symposium
  • Utility Telecom Transport Technologies Symposium
