Webinar: State of Utility Fiber
You may have seen the report –– now hear the details! This webinar will review highlights from UTC Research’s State of Utility Fiber study report UTC and KEMA teamed up to produce the report, looking at major trends in utility fiber demand, buildout and uses. When do utilities sell fiber? When do they expand their fiber offerings? When does it make sense to agree to fiber for utility right–of way? Fiber–optic technology use is only growing – find out how to use your fiber economically based on market demand and hear how other utilities are using fiber for internal and external projects. |

Webinar: NERC CIP Automation
Utilities can find a variety of technology solutions in the marketplace that address specific areas of NERC CIP. But how can utilities manage the interdependencies and dynamics between policies, processes, technology and people in order to ensure that compliance is consistently achieved? Even with good point solutions, utilities are exposed to risks such as missing deadlines for compliance-related activities, failure to consistently follow processes, delayed awareness of security incidents, and human error. Join this webinar to learn how automation can help meet these challenges and reduce the risks associated with NERC CIP compliance. |

Webinar: Enable Your Smart Grid with a Wireless Broadband Network
Many utilities are taking the first step toward Smart Grid with the implementation of AMI systems. These systems require reliable, secure and cost-effective connectivity for transporting AMI data between consumers and enterprise systems. Wireless Broadband networks make operational and economical sense for these wireless data systems. And beyond AMI, Wireless Broadband enables a variety of additional Smart Grid applications for enhanced productivity, service, security and ROI. This webinar will cover how Wireless Broadband connects your Smart Grid -- today and tomorrow. |

UTC Smart Grid Workshop
It is hard to find a week when there is not a meeting devoted to smart-this or smart-that. Smart Grids are the hot topic right now.
For over sixty years, UTC has been helping utilities build the telecommunications systems that create the electronic nervous systems over which all the "smart" applications will run. Few organizations have the depth of experience to understand fully the smart grid issues facing utilities as well as the Utilities Telecom Council.
Equipping you to get an edge on the Smart Grid market, UTC’s Smart Grid Workshop will:
- Separate the hype from reality as you create your Smart Grid business plans.
- Focus on what you need to know for the upcoming year as well as long-term.
- Introduce you to many of these experts in the utility industry.
- Connect with the best technology partners in the field so you can succeed.

Joint Use Workshop 2009
Utilities are facing an entirely new pole attachment world than they did just six months ago. The economy is in the tank, but at the same time there is a wave of new attachments for smart grid and broadband that could be a pole tsunami. So utilities need to do more with less at a time when there is increasing concern about critical infrastructure. How do utilities improve their business processes to keep up with demand while at same time improving the bottom line? How can they capitalize on these business trends? How do they improve public policies that have subsidized rates, forced access and encouraged unauthorized attachments? This conference will assess the current state of pole attachments, examine the business and technology changes ahead, and suggest policies that will help restore balance to pole attachment regulation. |
